When you start your business, you have a passion, a vision, a problem you want to solve, and a group of people you know you can support and for whom you can make life better.

As time passes and you walk down this path, things start getting in your way as the days get longer and longer, and you hear yourself say – I don’t have time for that; I will do it later. Right now, I have to order inventory, pay bills so I can order inventory, and make next week’s schedule for my employees.

An employee calls in sick; a customer complains—frustration mounts.

Doubts of self start to creep into your self-talk. You begin to question yourself. “Was I wrong?” ‘Did I make a mistake starting this?’

I thought I would have lots of time.

I thought I would be able to take long weekends

I thought…..

But I am stuck at work. You may feel more like the business owns you than you own the business. Your to-do list keeps getting longer and longer. Your passion and vision of why you started down this road fade.

It does not have to be this way. When you remain connected to your purpose and vision, you experience the power of that vision. Your vision can drive how you spend your time and, more importantly, when you use this as a filter to assess your self-talk.

When the self-talk does not align with your purpose, it is easier to recognize and dismiss it as inaccurate. With practice, you can adjust your self-talk. As you acknowledge and stop self-doubt, you will have more energy to focus on things you need and want to do.

Becoming aware of your internal blocks and why they are there, then turning them into stepping stones is a powerful skill that can support you, the business owner, in not allowing what has blocked you to block your business. This is one of the benefits of Coaching with Kelli.
